What can we learn from these sic dance moves?

Call it a lack of confidence due to thinking I’ll resemble something looking like Peter Garrett, but I just don’t feel I’ve got the ‘moves’ to pull out and impress those around me and avoid clearing the dance floor.

So I went in search of some sic moves to add to my dance kit and came across this clip, which gave me a bit more confidence:

Now don’t expect to see me out showing moves like the third dude in the black T-shirt who looks like he’s listening to the Divinyls song “I touch myself” or doing summersaults on the dance floor but I do feel a bit better about my chances if someone challenges me to a dance-off after seeing this clip.

What I also found interesting about this footage, aside from the dance moves, was how quickly the numbers grew to the point where people were jumping over each other to get involved. Seeing one person become three, then three become five, then five become ten is a simple example of the extraordinary power of compounding and it made me think …Read More

Bidding at Auction to Buy

Does it not make sense to bid during the auction to indicate your interest in the property?

Yes, if you are interested and want to buy the property you do need to let the Auctioneer know you are in the market.

Once the property has been declared “on the market” the highest bidder will be the winner of the auction unless somebody else calls out a higher bid before the auctioneer calls “sold”.

However, if the bidding does not reach the vendor’s reserve price, the property will be “passed in” then the Auctioneer will deal …Read More

If something needs to be repaired in your property, a maintenance request will need to be sent through to your property manager in writing via email/facsimile or post. It is important that you report any repairs required to the property in a timely manner, if you leave things and they get worse, in some instances you as a tenant can be liable for the damage being caused. We need your assistance as a tenant to keep note of anything that requires attention and to let us know before the issue caused further damage.

To email your request, send to repairs@mestateagents.com.au. Or, you will find the Repair Report form on our website www.mestateagents.com.au which can be downloaded, completed and submitted.

For general maintenance allow up to (5) working days for a tradesperson to contact you to arrange a time with you to come and repair the problem. Please keep in mind …Read More

I promise… this will make you smile

It’s not every day you come across a video that makes you smile like this. The music clip is a cover of Ben E. King’s classic ‘Stand by Me’ and it’s probably one of the best recordings ever produced. It starts out with a recording from the streets of Santa Monica by a street musician, Roger Ridley. What follows is most unexpected, but truly brilliant. The recording group travel from city to city, state to state, and country to country; gradually adding other performers into this highly dynamic and inspiring track. To think this was all done with a laptop and microphone is amazing.

The objective of the organisation ‘Playing for Change‘, is to “inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music”. All the proceeds of this venture are put back into the communities where the music originated from. It really does make you smile. Watch it from beginning to the end - you won’t regret it.
